FLYING SCOTS AT RIVERTON
The Board has authorized the introduction of the Flying Scot to RYC starting with the 2013 season. They will following the Lightnings schedule, racing Wednesday nights and regattas.The Scot is a 19 foot spinnaker boat that races with 2 or 3 crew. It is one of the 5 largest one-design classes nationally, with a strong builder and many good used boats available. It is great for both racing or daysailing, and can hold up to 8 for daysailing. Locally, there are fleets on Barnegat Bay, Stone Harbor, Avalon, Lake Nockamixon and elsewhere in the Delaware Valley.
July 13 (Saturday) is the first annual MAYRA Flying Scot championship Regatta cohosted by Stone Harbor and Avalon Yacht Clubs. Details on the MAYRA, YCSH and AYC websites.
